Hello, my name is Doug, and I was born and raised in Edmonton, AB. I come from a solid, hard-working family of seven children and two amazing parents who have been together for 70+ years. I have a strong belief in fair play and equality due to the immensely challenging and rewarding experiences of my childhood, for which I am truly grateful. I have spent the better part of my career in manufacturing, fabrication, and quality management in several industries. I have held many roles throughout the years starting out as a machinist in the aviation industry to general manager of a fabrication facility servicing the Alberta oil sector. None of these have been more fulfilling than the role of a single father to an amazing daughter and business partner. We have come a long way, from building and selling candle holders door-to-door together on cold fall days. There have been many lessons, good and bad, but they led us to where we are today and I would not change a thing. I believe that my identity is not solely made up of where I come from, it also includes where I aspire to be in the future. My goal with Piiper is to create a platform where I have the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded, solution-seeking people.
